Renewable natural gas is not just a theoretical concept; it is a viable resource available today, with Kurtenbach noting that RNG production currently stands at about 0.6 billion cubic feet (BCF) per day—enough to support around 200,000 trucks. This capacity could increase significantly over the next two decades, potentially reaching four to five BCF per day, which would be enough to fuel over a million trucks.
