Fault Code P0183 Fuel temperature sensor fault (high voltage fault)

Item To Be Detected:
Open/short circuit/breakage of sensor or harness

Preconditons When DTC is Set:
1) Key switch input voltage is 18V or more.
2) DTC P1630 or P1633 is not detected.
3) 3 minutes or more has elapsed afer starting engine.

DTC Set Condition:
Combustion temperature sensor voltage is more than 4.5V.

Fault Judgement Period:
Approx. 4 sec.

Behavior When Trouble Occurs:
Not in particular Back-up: Fuel temperature default setting (at starting: −20°C {−4°F}, at running: 70°C {158°F)

Diagnosis Lamp: ON

Recovery From Failure: *2

Possible Causes:
1) Fuel temperature sensor more or less than specified value.
2) Looseness or play between ECM and coupling connector connection.
3) Short circuit in FT sensor.
4) Bad or damaged FT sensor.
5) Open circuit or high resistance between ECM and FT sensor.
6) Bad supply pump.
7) Bad ECM.
8) Fuel temperature display showing error value.
